What's the buzz...tell me what's a happenin'

In our household we are holding tight to the past and present. George's tendency to bark not withstanding, Deb, the animals and I are in denial.

My favorite "Eli story" is that we were not supposed to get along. Mutual friend Sylvia Kidder Barry was concerned that two strong-personalitied women might butt heads. But from day one Eli and and I did they opposite of butting heads - we locked arms. Or something like that. Every so often it's nice when one of your friends is so dead wrong.

Eli, you are part of the heart and soul of GlobalGiving for me. Your energy, fiestiness, intellect, vision, passion (and compassion) and creativity have made the last three years very special. What you have led and accomplished here is nothing short of amazing. There are few things better than working with people you truly truly like and respect - and I have both for you in boatloads.

The Maine Women's Fund is lucky. The board and staff of the MWF are lucky. The grantees of the MWF are lucky. The women of Maine are lucky. The people of Maine are lucky. They don't really know what they are getting...but we know. You are a true talent. And an even more spectacular human being.
